He was appointed a Consultant at the Royal Bolton Hospital in 2004. His special interests include general gynaecology, laparoscopic surgery and office gynaecology in which he has developed extensive skills in performing both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
He is one of the Clinical Leads at the Royal Bolton Hospital for high-risk obstetric cases, managing women with complex medical problems. He has also developed his skills and expertise in the field of fetal medicine and regularly performs detailed fetal ultrasound scanning and diagnostic procedures for women from Bolton and other Trusts across Greater Manchester.
He has a dedicated commitment to teaching and he is currently the Undergraduate Tutor for the hospital. This requires a direct involvement in the teaching and development of mainly undergraduate students. He also teach post-graduates, midwives and associated medical professions both formally and informally.
In addition, he is an Honorary Lecturer for Manchester University Medical School and has been an examiner for several years. He is involved in the assessment of students from a variety of different year groups.
