About Ms Amber Bales

Personal Profile

Amber has known she has wanted to work as a Physiotherapist since the age of 10, and began the journey studying her BSc Physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University, where she graduated in 2022 with a First class degree. At university Amber was selected to complete the Pitch-side First Aid Internship for Team Hallam sport matches, working as the first response Physiotherapist.

Since graduating, she has worked in both the NHS and private practice which has allowed her to treat a wide range of pathologies and injuries from post-operative patients, sports injuries and chronic pain.

Amber also specialise in treating a variety of women’s health conditions including pelvic floor dysfunction, overactive pelvic floor, pelvic floor weakness, pelvic organ prolapse, bladder and bowel dysfunction such as urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, constipation and faecal incontinence.

In addition, she has also gained qualifications in Sport massage, Fitness instructor and Exercise referral, and has previously worked as a swimming teacher.

Outside of the clinic Amber is a rower on the GB Performance Pathway and was previously a competitive swimmer at a high level. This elite sporting experience allows her to relate to athletic clients in her care and provide high quality treatment plans.

Amber believes physiotherapy treatment should be holistic and in her clinical approach, she hopes to treat the whole person and not just the injury in front of her. During her treatment sessions, Amber combines hands-on therapy with rehabilitation and education in an effort to empower and educate her patients about how their bodies work and how to prevent further injuries.
