About Dr Alison Linton

Personal Profile

Dr Linton is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Royal Lancaster Infirmary. Graduating from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 2004, she completed specialist training across the North West region and became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2015.

Dr Linton provides high quality, holistic and compassionate care. She is approachable and interacts with warmth and empathy, ensuring that the patient’s worries and questions are sought and answered. Dr Linton brings a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience to provide patient choice and collaboration in developing the most appropriate management plan for individualised patient care.

Her clinical skills are fully comprehensive in Benign Gynaecology with special interests in diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy, management of menstrual disorders, menopause care, pessary care for prolapse and minor surgical procedures. She is an accredited colposcopist with expertise in the management of abnormal cervical smears and vulval skin disorders.

Alongside her clinical role, Dr Linton leads in risk and clinical governance and is regionally recognised for the implementation of quality improvement projects. She is actively involved in teaching and training of postgraduate doctors.
