Personal Profile

Dr. Hamaad is a consultant cardiologist with extensive experience in general cardiology with a special interest in heart failure and cardiac arrhythmias. Dr. Hamaad qualified from the University of Birmingham Medical School and was appointed as a consultant cardiologist in 2010. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in London and has published a number of scientific papers on a variety of heart conditions. He is the clinical lead for pacemakers and cardiac implantable devices and is responsible for teaching junior doctors and medical students alongside his clinical duties.

Outside his work Dr. Hamaad enjoys running and is a keen supporter of Aston Villa Football Club.

Clinical Interests

All general cardiology patients are seen including chest pain, breathlessness and palpitations. Dr. Hamaad is proficient in transthoracic echocardiography, coronary angiography and pacemaker/defibrillator implantations and runs a specialist clinic seeing patients who suffer from palpitations and blackout. Typical consultations last 25 minutes and he also offers remote consultations via Zoom or telephone for patients who are unable to travel for face-to-face appointments.
