Personal Profile
Alex trained at St. Georges Hospital London before completing basic general surgical training in Kent. He went on to undertake research into the effects of reperfusion injury following Aortic aneurysm repair at Northwick Park hospital and then completed his higher surgical and vascular training in the south west.
In order to persue his interest in endovenous therapies he was appointed a senior vascular and endovascular fellowship at the nationally renowned Freeman Hospital vascular unit in Newcastle and was subsequently asked to take up a consultant post there. Alex returned to the south in 2013 with his young family to assume the post of consultant vascular & endovascular surgeon at the Dorset County hospital, part of the Dorset and Wiltshire Vascular Network.
In concert with his good friend and colleague James Metcalfe, they have formed the Dorset County Vascular Group and along with their radiologists and associated specialists they continually strive to be champions for excellence and innovation for all their patients.
