Mr Alak Pal is a consultant  Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Northwick Park, Ealing and Central Middlesex Hospitals part of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.

He has extensive experience in management of gynaecological problems, such as menstrual disorders, pelvic pain and urinary bladder disorders.

Mr Pal is accredited and registered with the British Society of Urogynaecologists ( BSUG) for medical and surgical management of urinary symptoms in women and of pelvic organ prolapse. He is the clinical lead for the urogynaecological service at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.

He has special interests in the management of urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic floor dysfunction, urodynamics and pelvic organ prolapse. He is part of the multidisciplinary team, both local and regional for urogynaecological service and uses NICE patient decision aid for management of these disorders.
He has specialised in injection Bulkamid for treatment of stress incontinence and injection Botox for overactive bladder.

Mr Pal is an accredited colposcopist and trainer for management of abnormal cervical smears and high risk HPV ( Human papilloma virus). He has been the lead for colposcopy and gynaecological cancer service at Ealing hospital and very experienced in management of precancerous changes of female genital organs.

He has completed advanced special skills modules in minimal access surgery including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for heavy periods ( endometrial ablation , Mirena coil insertion), uterine fibroids ( hysteroscopic resection, open myomectomy and hysterectomy), pelvic endometriosis ( medical and surgical management), ovarian cysts ( laparoscopic cystectomy for benign cysts and endometriomas).

He is also up to date  in  counselling different contraceptive options as well as management of polycystic ovarian syndrome and management of menopausal symptoms.

Alak Pal is actively involved in teaching and training the specialist trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as the GP trainees. He is an examiner for Part 3 MRCOG examination for Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.
