Mr Moftah went to medical school at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. He started his Orthopaedic training in a top university hospital in Cairo and completed his training in the UK. He has 35 years of experience and is well respected by colleagues and peers. He is a senior Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon in Birmingham who specialises in Hip and Knee surgery, including total knee replacement, partial knee replacement, total hip and revision hip replacement surgery. He also performs a large number of arthroscopic knee surgeries, including meniscus repair, meniscectomy, cartilage surgery and ACL reconstruction. Mr Moftah has a special interest in treating hip arthritis in young adults and in revision hip arthroplasty.
Despite his vast experience, he is still passionate about learning new techniques and continuously attempts to update his knowledge to give the best possible care to his patients. He has travelled around the UK, Ireland and Europe visiting many centres of excellence in Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and the Netherlands. He also makes regular visits to the United States attending scientific meetings and visiting other surgeons.
Mr Moftah is a perfectionist by nature, passionate about patient involvement in decision making and tailors his treatment in accordance with patient needs to give them the best possible outcomes.
Mr Moftah has published in peer reviewed journals and presented in national and international meetings. He is keen on teaching and training and is an accredited trainer by the GMC.
