Apart from his extensive experience in weight loss surgery, gall bladder surgery and fundoplications, Mr Hamouda can simply state the problem and its treatment in terms that his patients can easily understand. He is reassuring, non-judgemental and has a great bedside manner. This is evident in the feedback he receives on Doctify, iwantgreatcare, TopDoctors and Google to name a few. Katrina who had a sleeve gastrectomy said: “Mr Hamouda is without a doubt a first-class surgeon, he was kind and considerate from the day I met him.”
You can book a phone or face to face consultation and expect a detailed overview of your health problems, symptoms, and your individual objectives. Mr Hamouda will take all these elements into account before giving you a personalised recommendation and treatment plan. This is what one of his patients had to say on Google: “I didn’t know what options would be available to me, if any, and I was extremely nervous, but I was desperate. I need not have worried, Mr Hamouda calmly talked me through a choice of procedures, and everything was very clearly explained to me. I never felt there was any expectation or judgement from him.”
Mr Hamouda offers weight loss interventions including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric mini-bypass and Roux-en-Y bypass procedures as well as injectable medication to aid weight loss. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy and fundoplication are also offered. He emphasises early recovery with day case and one night stay for the majority of his patients and works with others in the team such as dieticians and anaesthetists to enhance the post-operative experience.
He has completed over 1200 keyhole bariatric procedures and many more minimally invasive gall stone procedures. Training was completed in 2010 and involved a post-CCT fellowship in a Centre of Bariatric Excellence. Teaching and training are particular interests and he has trained a number of young surgeons in the past few years. He has widely published in the field of upper gastrointestinal surgery and laparoscopic surgery.
Mr Hamouda believes that looking after the person, as a whole, is more important than just offering the specific treatment.
Outside of work, Mr Hamouda enjoys a game of squash or more recently Padel at his local sports centre. He is also keen to take long walks with his wife and two children in Knole Park.
