Dr Ahmed Ammar is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Meriden Hospital and Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and an Honorary Consultant at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire. He specialises in all aspects of adult cardiology, with a particular focus on cardiac electrophysiology and device therapy. Dr Ammar graduated from medical school at Ain Shams University in 2010 distinction and honours. He completed his cardiology training at Ain Shams University Hospitals in Egypt, earning a Master’s degree in Cardiology 2014 and a PhD in Cardiology in 2017.
He held both academic and consultant positions at Ain Shams University before relocating to the UK in late 2017. He then undertook extensive advanced training in electrophysiology and cardiac pacing at East Sussex NHS Trust and Barts Heart Centre, achieving Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration in Cardiology and full accreditation from the European Heart Rhythm Association in electrophysiology in 2019 and cardiac pacing in 2021. Since 2020, Dr Ammar has been practising as a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and Honorary Consultant at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire. In recognition of his clinical expertise and contributions to cardiology, Dr Ammar was elected as Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2023 and Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) in 2024. He remains actively involved in clinical research, medical education, and international scientific forums.
