About Abdel Hassan
Personal Profile
Mr Abdel Hassan trained at University College, London and at Middlesex Medical School. He received several prizes and a fellowship to fund an additional degree, as well as obtaining a prestigious honours distinction from the University of London.
During his postgraduate training on the Guy’s and St Thomas’ rotation, he was awarded funding to pursue research in his early interest in knee surgery at Imperial College London.
Teaching and Research
He has lectured at national and international levels and has been instrumental in establishing cartilage; multi-ligament, minimally invasive, computer-assisted and patient-matched surgical techniques regionally. He won a prestigious award for minimally invasive surgery to the knee and offers training to his consultant colleagues.
Current Practice
He has a well-established private orthopaedic knee practice and receives tertiary level referrals, as well as a complex case mix of patients. He has contributed to providing cartilage regeneration, multi-ligament, minimally invasive, computer-assisted and patient-matched surgical knee techniques. Abdel was awarded a distinguished industry 'Centre of Clinical Excellence' award and provides training for both trainee and Consultant Surgeons.
The National Joint Registry independently demonstrates his outcomes for primary knee arthroplasty to be in the top 0.2% of the UK for the last 10 years. Mr Hassan prides himself on his exceptionally good patient outcomes.
