Private spinal health assessment
Our Spinal Health Assessment is designed to identify the cause of back or spinal pain and guide you towards the most effective treatment.
Back pain can be distressing and disruptive, affecting your mobility, work, and quality of life. Conditions such as sciatica, disc bulges, and sacroiliac joint dysfunction may require specialist assessment to diagnose accurately and manage effectively.
At Circle Health Group, our spinal health assessments provide fast access to expert-led evaluation and diagnostics, giving you clarity about your condition and confidence in the next steps of your care.
The spinal health package costs £550 and offers a comprehensive assessment supported by diagnostic imaging and consultant review. It includes an initial assessment with a musculoskeletal specialist physiotherapist, an MRI scan, a review of your results by your physiotherapist in discussion with a consultant spinal surgeon, and a follow-up appointment with your physiotherapist to discuss the findings and recommendations. This package also provides rapid access to the most appropriate treatment for your condition.
*The MRI scan included covers one body part. Additional images may be available at an extra cost.
Circle Health Group offers flexible payment options to make private healthcare more affordable. Patients can pay in monthly instalments rather than a lump sum, with interest-free finance available for short-term plans of up to 10 months.

A spinal health assessment may be suitable if you are experiencing ongoing or recurrent back pain, neck pain, or pain that radiates into your arms or legs.
Back and spinal pain can have many different causes, and symptoms alone do not always make it clear what is happening. An early spinal assessment helps identify the underlying cause of your pain, allowing treatment to be targeted more effectively.
A spinal health assessment may help identify conditions such as:
It can also be helpful if your symptoms are affecting your daily activities, work, or sleep, or if you are seeking a clear diagnosis and treatment plan. Whether your symptoms are recent or long-standing, our spinal health assessment may help.
Your appointment begins with a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and how your pain is affecting your day-to-day life.
During the physical assessment, your clinician will assess your posture, movement, spinal alignment, and areas of discomfort. This helps identify potential causes of pain and determine whether further investigation is required.
If your physiotherapist believes further investigation is needed, diagnostic imaging is arranged to provide detailed insight into the structures of your spine. Your results are then reviewed by your physiotherapist in discussion with a consultant spinal surgeon. A follow-up appointment will then be arranged with your physiotherapist to discuss the findings and recommendations.
Spinal health assessments focus on understanding both how your spine functions and its underlying physiological structure.
This may include hands-on clinical examination, movement analysis, and diagnostic imaging such as an MRI scan. MRI imaging allows clinicians to visualise discs, nerves, joints, and surrounding tissues, helping identify conditions such as disc bulges, nerve compression, or joint dysfunction.
All findings are considered alongside your symptoms to ensure an accurate diagnosis and personalised care plan.
Spinal pain can have multiple causes, and imaging findings must always be interpreted in the context of your symptoms and clinical assessment.
Not all changes seen on scans require surgery or invasive treatment. Many spinal conditions can be managed effectively with physiotherapy, rehabilitation, or targeted interventions. Your clinician will explain your results in clear, understandable terms and help you understand what they mean for you and your treatment options.
Early assessment of spinal symptoms can help prevent pain from becoming long-term and reduce the risk of ongoing discomfort or reduced mobility.
Identifying the cause of back pain early allows treatment to be targeted more effectively, which may improve recovery times and outcomes. Early diagnosis also provides reassurance and helps avoid unnecessary delays in care.
The main benefit of a spinal health assessment is gaining clarity about the cause of your pain.
Accurate diagnosis allows for personalised treatment recommendations, whether that involves physiotherapy, pain management, or specialist care. Early intervention can help reduce pain, improve movement, and support a quicker return to normal activities.
A spinal health assessment also provides reassurance and a clear plan, helping you feel more informed and in control of your recovery.
