Private heart health check
A Heart Health Check is a comprehensive cardiac assessment designed to identify early signs of cardiovascular disease and assess your overall heart health.
Early detection can make a life-changing difference. Many heart and circulatory conditions develop gradually and may not cause obvious symptoms in the early stages. Our heart health packages provide fast access to GP or consultant-led cardiac assessments, offering clarity, reassurance, and personalised guidance so you can understand your heart health and take appropriate next steps.
Whether you are seeking peace of mind, managing known risk factors, or experiencing symptoms, our experienced clinicians are here to support you.
We offer three heart health check packages, allowing you to choose the level of assessment that best suits your needs.
The Essential package (£350) is a comprehensive check suitable for those seeking detection of current heart health and modifiable risk factors. It includes a GP consultation, blood tests, a 12-lead ECG, and a written report with clear recommendations.
The Specialist package (£900) provides a more detailed evaluation for a deeper understanding of your heart health. This package includes a cardiologist consultation, blood tests, a 12-lead ECG, an echocardiogram, and a consultant cardiologist report with personalised guidance.
The Advanced package (£2,200) is our most comprehensive option and is ideal for patients with symptoms or known cardiovascular risk factors. This comprehensive package includes blood tests, a cardiologist consultation, a 12-lead ECG, an echocardiogram, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, a CT coronary angiogram (CTCA), and a follow-up appointment to review results in detail.
Circle Health Group offers flexible payment options to make private healthcare more affordable. Patients can pay in monthly instalments rather than a lump sum, with interest-free finance available for short-term plans of up to 10 months.

A heart health check may be suitable if you want reassurance about your cardiovascular health, have risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or a family history of heart disease, or are experiencing symptoms that may be related to your heart. Screening can be valuable even if you feel well.

Your heart health check begins with a consultation, during which your clinician will discuss your medical history, family history, lifestyle factors, and any symptoms you may be experiencing.
You will then undergo a series of cardiac tests depending on the package selected which may include ECG, echo, CT coronary angiogram, blood pressure monitoring. Please note these may not all take place on the same day. These assessments are non-invasive or minimally invasive and are carried out in a calm, clinical environment using modern diagnostic equipment.
Once all tests are complete, your clinician will review the findings to provide a clear explanation of your heart health and outline any recommended next steps.
Preparation and tips:
Heart health checks use a combination of clinical assessment, specialist blood tests, and cardiac investigations to build a comprehensive picture of how your heart and vascular system is functioning.
Depending on the package selected, tests may assess heart rhythm, heart structure, blood flow, blood pressure, and cardiovascular risk factors. Rather than relying on a single result, these investigations are considered together to support accurate assessment and personalised guidance.
Your clinician will explain which tests are included in your package and how they contribute to understanding your heart health.
Heart health checks assess risk and identify signs of early or even established cardiovascular disease, but no single test provides a complete diagnosis on its own. Results are interpreted together to ensure a balanced and accurate assessment.
In some cases, findings may indicate that further tests are recommended. This does not necessarily mean a serious condition has been identified but ensures that any potential concerns are explored thoroughly and safely.
Your clinician will explain your results in clear, understandable terms and answer any questions you may have.
Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading causes of ill health in the UK. Many heart conditions develop silently over time and may only become apparent when they are more advanced.
Cardiac screening allows potential issues to be identified earlier, when lifestyle changes, monitoring, or treatment can be more effective. Early assessment can help reduce the risk of serious complications and support better long-term heart health.
Even when results are normal, a heart health check provides reassurance and establishes a useful baseline for future monitoring.
The key benefit of a heart health check is early insight into your cardiovascular health. By identifying risk factors or early signs of heart disease, screening allows you to take proactive steps to protect your heart.
This may include lifestyle advice, ongoing monitoring, or early treatment where required. Early intervention reduces the risk of serious cardiac events such as myocardial infarction, heart failure, stroke, and life threatening arrhythmias, and can enable less complex future management.
A heart health check also provides clarity and reassurance, helping you understand your current heart health and make informed decisions about your future care.
Heart health checks are not only about identifying immediate concerns. They also play an important role in supporting long-term wellbeing.
By understanding your cardiovascular risk profile, you and your clinician can make informed decisions about preventative care, lifestyle changes, and ongoing monitoring. Establishing a baseline makes it easier to track changes in your heart health over time and act early if new concerns arise.
When should you consider a heart health check?
You may wish to consider a heart health check if you simply want reassurance or are over the age of 40, have known risk factors for heart disease, or have ongoing symptoms such as chest discomfort, breathlessness, dizziness, palpitations, or unexplained fatigue.
This service is not suitable for acute patients. If you experience acute symptoms such as severe or persistent chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, fainting, weakness on one side of the body, difficulty speaking, or symptoms that are rapidly worsening, you should attend A&E immediately or call 999.
