General paediatrics covers many areas, such as allergic conditions including food allergy, allergic rhinitis, asthma, eczema, urticaria and drug allergy

General paediatrics includes outpatient investigations like pathology, biochemistry, scans etc.

A general paediatrician will cover treatment of general paediatric conditions like infections, urinary tract infection, gastrooesophageal reflux, recurrent abdominal pain, migraines, diarrhoea, constipation and convulsions.

Other areas that may be dealt with by a paediatrician are allergic conditions including food allergy, allergic rhinitis, asthma, eczema, urticaria and drug allergy.

Paying for the treatment

Paediatric costs are covered by most medical insurance policies, but please check with your insurer first. If you are paying for your own treatment the cost will be explained and confirmed in writing when you book. Ask the hospital for a quote beforehand, and ensure that this includes all associated costs.
