A bunion is a bony lump that can form on the side of your foot. Bunions can make your large toe point towards your other toes, causing pain and discomfort.
Bunions can cause pain when doing everyday tasks such as putting your shoes on or even just gentle walking. They can also be unsightly, causing people to feel self-conscious. Private bunion surgery is a common and very effective procedure that can eliminate these issues.
During bunion removal surgery, your Orthopaedic Consultant will make a small incision in the skin over your big toe. They will then cut or scrape away your bunion and straighten your toe bone, before fixing it in place with metal screws or staples.
We offer fast access to quality orthopaedic treatment for a range of toe problems, including:
Our Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons will ensure you receive the most effective treatment possible for your toe problems.
An ankle arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure to diagnose and treat problems in your ankle joint. Your Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon will insert a tiny camera (arthroscope) into your ankle through small incisions in your skin. This will allow them to see inside your ankle and examine the cause of your pain and discomfort. They might also be able to treat the issue, using tiny surgical instruments inserted through further small incisions.
This is a reconstructive procedure to treat forefoot problems, which are most often caused by chronic joint conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis. Common forefoot issues include bunions, claw toe, hammer toe and hallux rigidus (a stiff large toe joint). They can cause pain, reduced mobility and toe deformities.
