Ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgery in Rochdale

Private treatment for Ear, Nose and Throat concerns

Whether you have tonsillitis, experience discomfort in your ears, or concerned about an infection; our specialist ENT surgeons will provide you with a quick diagnosis and treatment plan that is tailored to you.

We offer the following ENT services and treatments at The Highfield:

Sinus Surgery

Sinus surgery is suitable for patients who have chronically blocked and sore sinuses. You may experience severe headaches, pain around the face and a loss of smell and taste.

Sinus surgery can remove the blockage, treat the pain and improve your quality of life. When your nose is blocked, the sinuses no longer drain. The procedure to clear the sinus opening is called a maxillary antrostomy.

We understand that the prospect of surgery may cause you to feel anxious and concerned. At The Highfield, we pride ourselves on our patient-focused approach as we listen to your concerns and prioritise your health and wellbeing.

Tonsillectomy

If you regularly have tonsillitis, our ENT consultants may recommend getting a tonsillectomy surgery. This surgery removes the infected tonsils to reduce the chance of contracting tonsillitis again in the future.

Thyroid Surgery

Thyroid surgery may be recommended as a treatment for an overactive thyroid, ‘thyrotoxicosis,’ or due to swelling in the gland.

If your require surgery, an ENT surgeon of your choice will remove the thyroid gland, or part of it.

Sleep and Snoring Treatments

Whether you have sleep apnoea, are snoring too loudly or generally struggle to sleep at night, our ENT surgeons will provide you with a quick diagnosis and treatment plan that is tailored to you.

In some cases, they may recommend Uvulopalatoplasty to reduce your snoring. This is a surgical procedure that uses a laser to remove parts of, or all, of the uvula at the rear of the mouth.

Septoplasty

Septoplasty surgery corrects problems with the nasal septum – the cartilage and bone that separates the two sides of the nasal cavity.

If you have a blocked nose, it may be due to the septum. As a result, you may require an operation to correct this.

Nasal Endoscope

A nasal endoscopy is used to inspect the sinus passages and throat. An ENT surgeon will use an endoscope, a thin, flexible tube with a built-in camera, to help determine the diagnosis.

You may need a nasal endoscope if you are experiencing:

  • Pain or discomfort in the nose or throat
  • Regular nosebleeds
  • Ear pain
