If your procedure requires the use of contrast dye, we’ll ask you about allergies, kidney function and medications you’re on, too.
When you arrive at the radiology and imaging department, someone from our team will confirm your identity, explain the procedure and ask a few safety questions – for example, we may need to check you are not pregnant, and ask if you have a pacemaker. You may be asked to change into a hospital gown, but this will depend on the area being scanned.

In most instances, you can go home straight away after your scan. Your imaging results will be reviewed and reported on by one of our specialists, and we’ll send a formal report to your referring doctor. These are usually available within a few days, though more complex investigations may take longer.
