1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. In 2024, prostate cancer remained the most common cancer in men, with over 50,000 new cases diagnosed (Data and Evidence | Prostate Cancer UK).

The challenge? Most men won’t experience any symptoms in the early stages, making regular screening the only reliable way to detect it early - when it’s almost always treatable.
At Bath Clinic, we offer a comprehensive prostate cancer screening package designed to give you clarity and peace of mind. With expert-led assessments and advanced diagnostics, we’re here to support your health - 24/7, 365 days a year.

Whose at risk?

Prostate cancer is most common in men over 50 years of age. Black men, or men with a family history of prostate cancer are also at higher risk. You can easily check your risk using a simple online tool provided by Prostate Cancer UK.  https://prostatecanceruk.org/risk-checker

While early prostate cancer often has no symptoms, here are some signs to watch out for:

Needing to pee more often - especially at night
Rushing to the toilet with urgency
Difficulty starting to pee or needing to strain
Weak or slow urine flow
Feeling like your bladder hasn’t fully emptied
Blood in your urine

These symptoms can also be caused by non-cancerous conditions like an enlarged prostate - but it’s always best to get checked.

Initial Consultation
Begin with a telephone call from Mr Jon McFarlane, who will review your medical and family history and explain the  screening process in detail.

PSA Blood Test
A key indicator of prostate health, this test measures your prostate-specific antigen levels.

Advanced MRI Scan
Unlike many other screening packages, ours includes a high-resolution MRI scan - the most accurate tool available  for detecting prostate cancer early.

One Convenient Visit
Your PSA test and MRI scan are scheduled on the same day at Bath Clinic, making the process smooth and efficient.

Follow-Up & Results
A few days later, your consultant will call to discuss your results and provide a detailed written report.

Priced at £595, our screening package is led by prostate cancer specialists and designed to give you clarity, confidence and peace of mind. It includes a high-resolution MRI scan - the most accurate tool for early detection - which sets our service apart, as this advanced test isn't typically included in most other screening packages.

Fortunately, most men who undergo prostate cancer screening are not found to have a problem. If this is the case, we can advise you on how to minimise your risk of developing the disease in the future, and also what steps you should take (if any) for ongoing monitoring.

If your tests show a high risk of prostate cancer, it is likely you will need further investigations such as a prostate biopsy procedure. If this is the case, your consultant will advise you on next steps, and can also organise the tests for you.
