About Yogesh Jain

Personal Profile

Mr. Yogesh Jain is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast and General Surgeon at George Eliot Hospital and serves as an honorary lecturer at Warwick Medical School. He graduated in 1992 and completed his post-graduation in General Surgery in 1995 from Allahabad University in India. Mr. Jain became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 1999. During his training, he undertook a one-year fellowship in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery at the University Hospital of South Manchester, followed by further training at Whiston Hospital in Merseyside.

With over 25 years of experience in breast and general surgery, Mr. Jain has actively participated in multiple research activities, presenting his findings at both international and national conferences, and has published numerous articles in various medical journals. He is committed to education and serves as a clinical supervisor for Foundation Year 1 and Foundation Year 2 doctors, as well as being the surgical block lead for undergraduates. His passion for teaching extends to medical students, clinical nurse specialists, core trainees, and specialist registrars, and he also acts as an examiner for undergraduate medical students.

Clinical Interests

Mr. Jain's specialist area includes oncoplastic and cosmetic breast surgery, addressing a range of conditions such as breast pain (mastalgia), breast lumps, nipple discharge assessment and treatment, as well as performing surgeries related to breast cancer, reconstruction, augmentation, mastopexy, reduction, fat transfer (lipofilling), aesthetic breast surgery, and complex revision breast surgery. He is also skilled in gynaecomastia excision surgery for the removal of excess breast tissue in males.

Dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in breast disease management, breast aesthetics, and reconstructive breast surgery, Mr. Jain adopts a comprehensive approach to patient care, focusing on the individual rather than viewing each patient as merely a collection of symptoms. In addition, he performs excisions of lumps and bumps, including moles, as well as hernia repairs of various types, and manages pilonidal sinus conditions using local flaps to minimise recurrence.
