Mr Yajati Ghosh is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon based in Birmingham. He provides specialist care in general ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery across hospital and community settings. His main private practice is at Droitwich Spa Hospital, and he also works at Priory Hospital Birmingham, where he treats a wide range of eye conditions and eyelid disorders.

He studied medicine at the University of Calcutta and completed his early ophthalmology training at Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital. He later moved to the UK, where he undertook ophthalmology training in the North of England rotations, gaining broad experience in both medical and surgical eye care.

He went on to complete Specialist Registrar training in the West Midlands Deanery, where he developed advanced expertise in oculoplastic surgery. After achieving his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), he completed a post-CCT fellowship in oculoplastics in Manchester, further refining his skills in complex eyelid, tear duct, and orbital surgery.

Mr Ghosh has extensive experience across all areas of ophthalmology, with a particular focus on oculoplastic surgery and trauma-related eye conditions. He is also trained in endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR), a procedure used to treat blocked tear ducts and persistent watery eyes.

Throughout his career, he has performed more than 4,000 cataract surgeries and over 1,500 eyelid procedures. He also has significant experience in laser treatments for a range of ophthalmic conditions.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Ghosh has contributed to more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and has presented at national and international ophthalmology conferences. His work is well recognised within the ophthalmology community for both clinical expertise and academic contribution.

At Droitwich Spa Hospital, Mr Ghosh provides specialist eye care focused on accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. He combines advanced surgical techniques with a patient-centred approach to achieve the best possible visual and functional outcomes.
