He routinely performs gallbladder removal surgery (laparoscopic cholecystectomy - keyhole surgery) for gallbladder disease. He also carries out open and keyhole hernia repair surgery and excision of skin lesions, lumps and bumps.

He trained in all aspects of endocrine and breast surgery at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. He then spent a year as a fellow in Endocrine and Breast Surgery at the Nightingale Centre University Hospital.

Currently, Mr Elsaify runs a wide-ranging general surgery practice in the NHS, based at James Cook University Hospital. He has been employed as a fully-accredited Consultant Breast, Endocrine and General Surgeon since 2011. He is also the Lead Clinician for Endocrine Surgery. He has performed over 1,000 thyroid and parathyroid procedures.
