After qualifying from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School and intercalating a Batchelors degree in pharmacology, Dr Saxena continued his general medical and gastroenterology training in London.
After his house jobs at Westminster Hospital, and senior house officer rotation at Charing Cross Hospital, he consolidated his registrar training on the South Thames registrar rotation in London. He developed his specialist knowledge and research experience through several centres including St George’s Hospital, London.
Dr Saxena has a successful National Health and Private Practice in London and serves a diverse population of patients. With over twenty years as a consultant, he is highly experienced with a wide knowledge base in Gastroenterology.
Having grown up in South-East London and being educated at Dulwich College, Dr Saxena was appointed as a Consultant at Greenwich District Hospital in 2000. Since then, he has developed an extensive practice with an excellent reputation for high quality care.
His NHS base is The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, part of Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. His department is a busy and active unit for a full range of Gastroenterology services.
His specialist interests remain wide as a luminal gastroenterologist. He provides high quality and comfortable day case gastroscopy and colonoscopy. His outpatient services include investigation of all gastroenterology symptoms to diagnose functional and inflammatory bowel disease, reflux disease and dyspepsia.
His main research was looking at oesophageal disorders, reflux disease and swallowing problems, and he has developed one of the busiest oesophageal testing centres in London with an excellent reputation.
Dr Saxena is happy to see patients who are self-referred, through their GP or another specialist. All contacts and referrals can be made directly to each hospital or through his secretary who looks after his NHS and Private referrals. Further information can also be found at doctify.com.
When not working, Dr Saxena, who lives locally, considers himself a family man and spends time with his wife and two daughters. He is also rather obsessed with playing the guitar.
