Personal Profile

Please note: Dr Ghura does not see any kind of rashes, allergies or hair loss

Dr Vindy Ghura has been a Dermatologist and Mohs/Dermatological Surgeon for over 20 years. He looks after and treats all forms of skin cancer as well as moles, cysts and lumps and bumps of the skin.

He specialises in skin cancer, and is one of very few fully trained Mohs surgeons in the country. Mohs surgery gives the highest cure rates for the most common forms of skin cancer, whilst minimising the scar, allowing for the most optimal repair and reconstruction.

Dr Ghura is very proud to have been elected President of the British Society for Dermatological Surgery, to which hundreds of dermatologists, skin cancer experts and skin cancer surgeons belong to, as well as almost all Mohs surgeons in the UK. He is also a long-standing member of The British Association of Dermatologists. He is past Chair of the Regional Specialist Skin Cancer meeting, leading a panel of skin cancer experts writing the guidelines for the management for skin cancer. He has performed thousands of cases of Mohs surgery.

He trained at Newcastle Medical School and completed his Dermatology residency training in the Midlands. Dr Ghura then undertook an 18-month Mohs Surgery and Skin Cancer fellowship at The University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, one of the first centres in the UK to adopt Mohs Surgery, also spending time super-specialising in Mohs Surgery in Lisbon at Europe’s largest Mohs surgery centres.

He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians, and has also been an Examiner for the College. He set up and developed the award-winning Mohs Surgery Unit in Sheffield before developing the Mohs Centre in Manchester, and is a leading Consultant in the UK’s largest Mohs Surgery Centre, treating over 1000 patients each year.

Dr Ghura is actively involved in skin cancer and Mohs surgery research and is a published author of numerous articles. He is a renowned trainer and international lecturer in his field with a Master's degree in Medical Education.
