As a member of the Orthoptic department, Mr Dwarampudi works as part of a multi-disciplinary team including other Allied Health Professionals, Administrative Staff, Nurses, Optometrists and Ophthalmologists; this interaction helps us to provide the highest level of quality patient care.
Clinical Demonstrator and Lecturer
Mr Dwarampudi is employed within The University of Manchester as a Clinical Demonstrator and Lecturer. He supervises undergraduate optometry students while they examine patients in the University Optometry Clinic, and provides clinical and academic teaching to undergraduate optometry students.
Advanced Orthoptist
Mr Dwarampudi is employed within the Orthoptic Department at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital as an Advanced Orthoptist. He is Education and Teaching Lead for the Orthoptic department too, which involves organising, developing strategies for and administering all forms of education and teaching which are provided by the Orthoptic department. He also mentors junior members of staff.
He offers virtual clinic assessment of patients with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension.
Audit and research
Mr Dwarampudi teaches undergraduate orthoptic, optometry and medical students, and is a lecturer on the CMFT STEP programme. He supervises and assesses qualified optometrists, doctors and ophthalmologists, and is a RCOpth portfolio assessor. He is an 'Investors in People' qualified internal and external assessor.
