About Mrs Val McGrogan

Personal Profile

Since graduating from the Grampian School of Physiotherapy with distinctions, Val has worked as a Chartered Physiotherapist for over 30 years. Working predominantly in the management of musculoskeletal disorders with a wide range of conditions, Val has worked in her own private clinic and in other sports injury clinics, including Durham County Cricket. She also has experience working in healthcare in countries such as Australia and Qatar.

Val has vast experience in clinical assessment and treatment of post operative patients as well as clients with acute or chronic soft tissue injuries. Her main goal is returning them to work, sport, normal activities of daily living and sleep. Val uses her varied skills to assess the cause of the presenting condition and formulate an individualised treatment plan consisting of advice and education, manual therapy treatments and therapeutic exercise to promote rehabilitation and return to a full and active lifestyle.

Her experience in other industries such as BAE shipbuilders, Siemens, and in Nursing homes included risk assessing workstations and assessing and treating work related conditions as well as industrial injuries. This experience thoroughly complements her work in preventing chronic problems and in the rehabilitation process.

When not at work, Val plays tennis, enjoys yoga, and generally has a very active lifestyle. However, she also loves a good book.
