Mr Faridi is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Dorset County Hospital and Winterbourne Hospital in Dorchester. He is a highly experienced Ophthalmologist with varied clinical experience and a specialist interest in cataract and glaucoma surgery. He qualified from Khyber Medical College, University of Peshawar, and had had his Post-graduate qualifications from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and Royal College of Ophthalmologists London.

Mr Faridi had his initial ophthalmic training as a trainee registrar at a tertiary care centre, Post-graduate Medical Institute, Lady Reading Hospital, in Pakistan. He had further training in the United Kingdom, working various units. He rotated in various ophthalmic subspecialties and gained a vast experience in different fields of ophthalmology. He completed his Glaucoma fellowship from a high-profile glaucoma unit of the southwest region at West of England Eye Unit, Exeter. In the same unit, he also worked as a fixed term glaucoma consultant, helping him achieve a high degree of expertise in the field. He is an experienced cataract and glaucoma surgeon. He has a specialist interest in cataract surgery in glaucoma patients and combined procedures. He has a valuable experience in different type of glaucoma laser therapies and surgical procedures including modern minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities as a consultant ophthalmologist, he has had roles as a clinical lead, clinical appraiser, and clinical governance lead. He regularly self-audits his clinical practice to ensure he remains compliant with national benchmark standards. Throughout his career he has also been involved in research and clinical audits and has projects published in peer-reviewed journals. He was a principal investigator of an independent head-to-head 3-way Prostaglandin eye drops clinical trial. He regularly attends international as well as national meetings and conferences to remain updated with the current practice of Ophthalmology.
