Hernia surgery is his area of expertise. Mr Graja offers the wide range of surgical techniques to repair inguinal, umbilical, femoral, Spigelian, ventral and various incisional herniae. He is mostly focused on open hernia surgery which he considers as safest, reliable and successful in the long-term.
Since 2000, breast surgery has become Mr Graja’s main subspecialty. In particular, he is committed to achieve the optimal cosmetic outcome using oncoplastic techniques for breast cancer. In 2004 he became interested in this technique, where the cancer is well controlled while preserving or creating the appearance of a normal breast. He went on to study breast oncoplastic surgery at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, The Royal Marsden Hospital in London, as well as at The Moffitt Cancer Centre in Tampa, Florida.
In 2005, he was awarded a PhD following his dissertation on the quality of life for women following mastectomy versus those treated with breast conserving surgery for breast cancer. He continues to apply this ethos to his work.
Mr Graja also provides minor general surgery like excision of lipoma, sebaceous cysts and skin lesions.
He lives locally in Broadmayne with his family.
