About Professor Theodore Ngatchu

Personal Profile

I studied medicine at the University of Padua - Italy (the oldest medical school in the world). My undergraduate thesis was on viral hepatitis. I went on to pursue postgraduate training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Padua (Italy) writing an MD thesis on Liver Chemistry in heart transplant patients.

I then moved to the UK where I obtained the MRCP and had further training in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Therapeutic Endoscopy at various London Teaching Hospitals including Royal Free Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital and The Hammersmith Hospitals.

I am currenly a Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician in Birmingham. My special interests are liver diseases, disorders of the stomach, small and large bowel and therapeutic endoscopy.
