About Susmita Oomman

Personal Profile

Dr Oomman graduated with MBBS in 1986 and went on to a MD Anaesthetics in India. She worked and gained experience in major hospitals in Mumbai. She then worked in Saudi Arabia for a couple of years in a large tertiary referral hospital managing various cases including paediatric, neurosurgical, gynae, orthopaedics, general surgery and obstetrics.

In the UK Dr Oomman completed the certificate of completion of specialist training in Anaesthetics and her advance training module, went to Canada for a year to do a Chronic Pain fellowship in Mcmaster University Canada. On returning to the UK, Dr Oommas completed further training in Cambridge and obtained her FRCA in 2003.

Dr Oomman is a consultant in Pain and Anaesthetics at Hywel Dda NHS Trust.
