Personal Profile

Mrs. Bulchandani is the only RCOG (Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) accredited subspecialist Urogynaecologist in the Coventry & Warwickshire region, and is a substantive consultant at University Hospital Coventry. She trained in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from India, and further accomplished her postgraduate training in the UK from the West Midlands region. In addition, she completed her subspecialty training in Urogynaecology from the Birmingham Women’s Hospital in 2015.

She is a member of British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG). She collaborates closely with the BSUG and is a member of the patient information committee in the BSUG.  She uses their guidelines in the management of her patients and monitors all her work through this society. She is also a member of the International Urogynaecology Association (IUGA) and International Continence Society (ICS). 

Mrs. Bulchandani leads urogynaecology services at University Hospital Coventry and is actively involved in teaching and training of junior doctors in urogynaecology & general gynaecology practice. She works in a multidisciplinary group closely with physiotherapists, continence nurses, midwives and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG).

She has written many scientific papers in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is actively involved in research and teaching. She audits her practice regularly against national guidelines.

Mrs. Bulchandani’s main areas of interest are Urogynaecology (vaginal prolapse and urinary incontinence, bladder pain & recurrent cystitis) and General Gynaecology (period problems, menstrual disturbances, pelvic pain, fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, & vaginal discharge).

She conducts urodynamic studies clinic to investigate the bladder prior to incontinence and prolapse surgeries and leads a Pelvic Floor Clinic in a multidisciplinary team in order to manage pelvic floor dysfunction.

She is also expert in managing heavy periods. In addition, she has extensive experience in managing recurrent prolapse and vaginal vault prolapse, both by vaginal and laparoscopic approach. She offers urethral bulking injections for stress incontinence as day case procedures.

She has a special interest in obstetric anal sphincter injuries, and runs a special clinic for that at University Hospital Coventry alongside a perineal specialist midwife and physiotherapist. She performs endoanal (back passage sphincter) ultrasound scans in that clinic and works closely with colorectal surgeons for further management of these patients. She undertakes perineal refashioning and labial reduction, as well.

Her consulting and operating charges are within BUPA monetary limits and she is a registered practitioner with most health insurance companies.
