Mr Prescott qualified in 1981 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Science from Manchester University. He spent three years in Teaching Hospital junior posts in Manchester before continuing his surgical training in Edinburgh including a two-year Research Fellowship with the then ICRF (now CRUK). Visiting Clinician Scientist Fellowship Toronto General Hospital 1992. Appointed Senior Lecturer at Edinburgh University and Honorary Consultant in Urology and Renal Transplantation to the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh in 1993.
In 1995, he moved to Leeds to become Consultant Urologist to Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Honorary Senior Lecturer to the University of Leeds. Previous Yorkshire Cancer Network Urology Group Chair, BAUS Section of Oncology Committee member, Clinical Lead for Urology, Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Sixty publications mainly in the field of urology.
