Mr Prescott qualified in 1981 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Science from Manchester University. He spent three years teaching hospital junior posts in Manchester before continuing his surgical training in Edinburgh, including a two-year Research Fellowship with the then ICRF (now CRUK).
He undertook a Visiting Clinician Scientist Fellowship at Toronto General Hospital in 1992, and was appointed as Senior Lecturer at Edinburgh University and Honorary Consultant in Urology and Renal Transplantation to the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh in 1993.
In 1995, he moved to Leeds to become a Consultant Urologist at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Honorary Senior Lecturer to the University of Leeds. Mr Prescott was the previous Yorkshire Cancer Network Urology Group Chair, BAUS Section of Oncology Committee member and Clinical Lead for Urology at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. He has 60 publications, mainly in the field of urology.
