Mr Hannah qualified from the University of Glasgow medical school in 2008 before starting training in the west of Scotland and then the north of England. He completed his specialist orthopaedic training on the west of Scotland training programme and subsequently undertook two sub-specialist upper limb fellowships in Australia; initially with the Melbourne Shoulder & Elbow Centre then the Epworth Shoulder & Elbow fellowship.
Mr Hannah’s orthopaedic practice is exclusively within the upper limb - although he has a busy trauma practice that treats lower limb and upper limb as well as children from ages 5 – however he has a particular interest in shoulder replacement surgery. He has an interest in the latest technology in shoulder replacement surgery and routinely utilises computer-assisted planning and patient-specific instrumentation.
Within his NHS practice, Mr Hannah is involved in the teaching of medical students and junior doctors as well as being a recognised trainer for specialist trainees in trauma and orthopaedic surgery. He is actively involved in research within his department and has peer-reviewed publications.
Mr Hannah recently hosted an online patient information event on shoulder pain. You can register here to view this event on demand.
