Mr Stephen Bromage is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Stepping Hill Hospital; he has clinics at Stepping Hill, Tameside, Macclesfield and Leighton Hospital. He graduated from Newcastle University and has gained medical and surgical experience through working in Australia and New Zealand, before settling in the North West of England. Mr Bromage has experience across all areas of general urology and a sub-specialty interest in urological cancer, in particular renal disease.
He performed the first laparoscopic partial nephrectomy using a novel green dye to highlight the tumour borders in the UK. He is one of the highest volume renal surgeons in the UK, particularly for robotic surgery.
His other specialist interest is male factor fertility, and he has published many original scientific articles in this area. He is trained in microsurgery and performs high volumes of sperm retrieval procedure, reversal of vasectomies and varicocele procedures.
Mr Bromage has a keen interest in education and has been awarded a certificate of education from the University of Dundee. He is an Honorary Lecturer and is involved in the teaching and lecturing of medical students, as well as health professionals.
