About Dr Sobia Arshad

Personal Profile

Dr Sobia Arshad is a Diabetes and Endocrinology Consultant with private practice privileges at Sloane Hospital, Blackheath Hospital, and House of Health, managing the full spectrum of endocrine patients. Following her CCT in 2019, she has worked at King’s College NHS Foundation Trust for three years, providing inpatient and outpatient care across Diabetes, Endocrinology, and General Internal Medicine. Dr Arshad contributed to the Tier 3 Bariatric Service, assessing patients for bariatric surgery suitability and excluding endocrine or medical causes of obesity, which sparked her special interest in obesity management and led me to join The Obesity Society.

Dr Sobia Arshad currently holds honorary contracts at Darent Valley and Lewisham Hospitals, with a focus on specialist lipid clinics, and actively participate in service improvement, research, and innovation. Clinically, she manages complex endocrine cases, including leading thyroid multidisciplinary team meetings, while providing timely input to primary care via Advice and Guidance and Consultant Connect.

Teaching and mentoring are central to Dr Sobia Arshad's professional practice. She supervise trainees, trust-grade SHOs, medical students, and research students, and serve as an Associate Lecturer at Kent and Medway Medical School, now in my second year of teaching Year 2 students. She has presented research and clinical innovations at national conferences, seminars, and patient support events.

Organised, motivated, and forward-thinking, Dr Arshad excels in clinical leadership, team management, and achieving objectives, maintaining a calm and mindful approach in all aspects of her work.
In her private practice, she manages the full spectrum of endocrine conditions, including diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, and monogenic forms), thyroid disorders, pituitary and adrenal diseases, obesity and weight management, lipid disorders, calcium and bone disorders such as osteoporosis, reproductive endocrine issues including PCOS and menopause, and other complex hormonal or metabolic conditions. Dr Sobia Arshad provides personalised, patient-centred care, combining clinical expertise with tailored medical, lifestyle, and surgical management options.
