About Professor Sinisa Savic

Professor Savic Personal Profile

Sinisa Savic is a Professor of Clinical Immunology and Honorary Consultant Immunologist at The University of Leeds and the Regional Department for Immunology and Allergy at St James’s University Hospital. He graduated in Medicine from Newcastle University and completed his general medical training in Newcastle upon Tyne. He then specialised in Clinical Immunology at Leeds, where he also earned his PhD at the Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine.

His clinical expertise spans the full breadth of specialist immunology and allergy, including primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, food, respiratory, drug and venom allergies, chronic urticaria, angioedema, and systemic autoinflammatory syndromes. He currently serves as the Chair of the British Society for Immunology’s Clinical Immunology Professional Network.

Professor Savic has played a key role in developing treatment policies for rare autoinflammatory diseases on behalf of NHS England. His research program is dedicated to uncovering the genetic causes of inborn errors of immunity, and he has led the discovery of several novel genetic causes of primary immunodeficiencies and autoinflammatory conditions. He has also been involved in, and led, numerous clinical trials investigating novel therapies for chronic urticaria and hereditary angioedema, with findings published in prestigious medical journals.

To date, Professor Savic has authored over 160 original articles, 30 reviews, and three book chapters.
