About Dr Simon Allard

Personal Profile

Dr Simon Allard is a Consultant Physician specialising in Rheumatology. He trained in Medicine at the University College London. He was a Consultant Physician at the West Middlesex Univeristy Hospital and honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College School of Medicine for over 30 years. 

He has previously held a number of national administrative roles including Secretary of the British Society for Rheumatology. For the Royal College of Physicians, he has been Chairman of the Advisory Committee for Rheumatology as well as Programme Director for training in Rheumatology.

His research interests include pathological mechanisms of joint damage in arthritis (the subject of his MD Doctorate). He has also had an interest in the relationship between the mind and musculoskeletal disorders (a legacy of having a BSc in Psychology).
