About Dr Shree Raja

Personal Profile

Dr Raja completed his primary medical qualification in India before relocating to the United Kingdom in 2006 to pursue further postgraduate medical training and broaden his clinical experience within the NHS. Since moving to the UK, he has worked across a variety of hospital specialties and healthcare settings, gaining extensive experience in both acute and community-based medicine. His early years within the NHS involved working in multiple hospitals across the country, where he developed a strong foundation in general medicine, emergency care, elderly care, respiratory medicine, and chronic disease management. These formative experiences provided him with broad clinical exposure and helped shape his patient-centred and holistic approach to medicine.

He subsequently undertook his postgraduate GP training in Chesterfield, completing his specialist GP training successfully in 2014. During his training years, he worked closely with multidisciplinary teams and senior clinicians, developing expertise in managing a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions within primary care. His training also allowed him to gain valuable experience in communication skills, safeguarding, continuity of care, and preventive medicine, all of which remain central to his daily clinical practice.

Following completion of his GP training, Dr Raja joined Billinghay Medical Practice, where he has now worked for over 11 years. Over this period, he has become a well-established and respected GP within the local community. His role involves comprehensive management of patients across all age groups, including acute illness assessment, chronic disease management, mental health care, elderly care, preventive health, and complex multimorbidity.

In addition to his general practice work, Dr Raja has a strong interest in dermatology. To further develop his expertise in this field, he completed a Dermatology Diploma through The University of Warwick. This additional qualification enhanced his knowledge and clinical skills in diagnosing and managing a broad range of skin conditions within primary care. He has since incorporated dermatology work into his everyday GP practice and has developed a particular interest in the assessment and management of common skin disorders, skin lesion recognition, and minor surgical procedures.

Throughout his NHS career, Dr Raja has remained committed to maintaining high professional standards and continuing professional development. He regularly participates in educational meetings, appraisal activities, clinical updates, and quality improvement initiatives to ensure his practice remains aligned with current evidence-based guidelines and NHS standards. He values collaborative working and actively contributes to team-based patient care within primary care services.

Dr Raja has also supported the teaching and supervision of healthcare trainees and colleagues during his career. He strongly believes in creating a supportive learning environment and values the importance of mentoring and sharing clinical knowledge with junior colleagues, students, and allied healthcare professionals. His broad experience within both hospital medicine and general practice allows him to provide practical, balanced, and patient-centred clinical guidance.

Over nearly two decades within the NHS, Dr Raja has built substantial experience managing diverse patient populations and complex clinical presentations. His combined background in hospital medicine, long-standing GP experience, and additional expertise in dermatology enables him to provide comprehensive and holistic care tailored to individual patient needs. He remains passionate about delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality healthcare while continuing to expand his clinical knowledge and professional skills.
