About Dr Shoma Banerjee

Personal profile

Dr Banerjee qualified from St. George's Hospital Medical School in London in 2006. 

Shoma has worked in several regions throughout her training but undertook her specialist training through the Oxford Deanery.

Shoma has been a substantive consultant in Milton Keynes University Hospital since 2017 and is the Clinical Lead for the Rheumatology Department and is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer for the University of Buckingham.

Shoma has undertaken a training course through the Faculty of Occupational Medicine in order to help her patients remain at work despite having a health condition.

Outside of medicine, she has a passion for yoga and mindfulness.

Clinical Interests

Dr Banerjee is experienced in general rheumatology including inflammatory arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, axial spondyloarthropathies, polymyalgia rheumatica, connective tissues diseases, vasculitidies, crystal arthritis, general osteoporosis and diagnosing fibromyalgia. 

Shoma has a special interest in dermatology/rheumatology overlap conditions and is particularly supportive of pregnant and breastfeeding mothers with rheumatic diseases.
