About Mr Sherif Hosny

Personal Profile

Mr Sherif Hosny Is an expert in hip surgery with almost 20 years of NHS experience. His NHS practice is in Wexham and Heatherwood Hospitals.
After training at University College London Mr Hosny underwent Specialist Orthopaedic training within the Oxford and then South West London Deaneries. He went on to complete two further years of specialist fellowship hip training working with renowned and world-leading hip surgeons in London, Surrey and Bournemouth. Mr Hosny has also trained at three major trauma centres (John Radcliffe, St Georges and St Marys Hospitals) experiencing and managing the full gamut of high-intensity cases and polytrauma, including but not limited to, hip and pelvic trauma. Throughout his career, he has published and presented at international events and his practice embodies state-of-the-art techniques combined with evidence-based therapies and patient-centric treatments.

Mr Hosny is now solely focused on hip conditions. He is the local Hip arthroplasty lead at Wexham Park Hospital and has a special interest in hip replacement and resurfacing surgeries as well as hip arthroscopy and injections for young adult hip and sports conditions. Hip replacement surgery is very successful and tens of thousands have been put in over the last decades. Whilst many continue to perform well, often beyond their expected durability, many are now failing or causing problems. Mr Hosny is a revision specialist and frequently operates to rectify failing or unsatisfactory implants.

Mr Hosny is a keen sportsman and triathlete and understands the needs of his patients. Hip and groin pain or stiffness should not be an impediment to making the most of life. At the core of his practice is an empathetic and caring approach to patients.
