About Dr Shaza Obaid

Personal Profile

Dr Obaid is a long-established NHS Consultant Rheumatologist. Having received training in London and Leicester, she was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians.

Since then, she has obtained an MSc in Rheumatology from Harris Manchester College, Oxford University. Her passion for the field sees her regularly teaching Nottingham medical students and actively partaking in the training of junior doctors.

Dr Obaid has extensive experience in treating inflammatory arthropathies such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, as well as connective tissue diseases such as lupus, gout, fibromyalgia, and osteoarthritis. In addition to joint injections, she has trained to provide ultrasound examination of the joints streamlining the diagnostic process and aiding early detection of inflammatory arthritis. Dr Obaid had been nominated for the Doctor of the Year award and has won clinical excellence awards.

She actively participates in the yearly appraisal and 5 yearly revalidation process. She is the audit lead in her department and is an enthusiastic teacher and trainer, having the responsibility of being the clinical and educational supervisor for Lincoln Rheumatology trainees.
