Dr Hoque completed a BSc in Pharmacology at University College London with First Class Honours, prior to studying medicine. She completed her MBBS at the Barts and The Royal London Hospital Medical College and graduated in 1996 with a distinction in Medical Ethics. Her general medical training was mainly at Barts and The Royal London Hospital but also included the London Chest Hospital. During this time, she completed her MRCP ( UK ) and then started her Dermatology training at St John’s Institute of Dermatology - during this time she also worked in the Genito-Urinary and HIV departments. She then began her Specialist Dermatology training at St George’s Hospital.
She was appointed as a consultant at University Hospital Lewisham in 2007. She is the Lead Clinician for Skin Cancer at Lewisham Hospital and a member of the South East London Cancer network / Tumour working Group.
She is actively involved in teaching medical students and is an educational supervisior to Dermatology Specialist Registrars attached to Lewisham. She is actively involved in audits and has presented regularly at GP meetings. Her main interests are General Dermatology, Skin Cancer, Genital Dermatology and Paediatric Dermatology. She has performed audits and published articles in these areas of interest.
