Personal Profile

Miss Samantha Levin is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Central Middlesex Hospital (CMH) in London and an Honorary Consultant at the Western Eye Hospital. She specialises in glaucoma and cataract surgery, as well as in general eye complaints, with 20 years’ experience as a consultant. She is the Lead Clinician for Glaucoma at CMH, as well as the Clinical Governance Lead for ophthalmology.

After completing her medical training at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, she underwent specialist training in ophthalmology at the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital. She conducted research into laser eye surgery, obtaining a Master of Surgery at the University of Melbourne. Following this, she undertook two glaucoma Fellowships, at the Western Eye Hospital and Hillingdon Hospital.

She is a regular tutor in advanced surgical skills at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, training the next generation of  consultants  in cataract & glaucoma surgery. She also lectures GPs and optometrists about various aspects of ophthalmology.

Miss Levin’s areas of expertise include general adult ophthalmology, microincision cataract surgery, medical and surgical management of glaucoma, laser treatment for glaucoma, cataract surgery, implantation of glaucoma drainage devices and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).
