About Dr Samah Alimam

Personal Profile

Dr Alimam is an experienced and highly regarded Consultant Haematologist based at University College, where she serves as the lead for Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML) and Transfusion Medicine. She provides expert care across a broad spectrum of haematological conditions and has developed a reputation for her compassionate approach and clinical excellence.

Dr Alimam completed her specialist haematology training in both London and Manchester, gaining extensive experience in some of the UK’s leading medical centres. Dr Alimam sees patients with a wide range of blood-related conditions, including iron deficiency, anaemia, low or high blood counts, and unexplained fatigue or bruising. She also assesses and treats patients with “lumps and bumps” that may suggest lymph node enlargement or other haematological abnormalities. Her expertise extends to the diagnosis and management of complex blood disorders and haematological malignancies. Her clinical interest lies in both general haematology and malignant haematology, with a focus on delivering personalised, evidence-based care to her patients.

In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr Alimam is deeply engaged in academic and research activities. She leads and collaborates on several clinical studies aimed at improving outcomes for patients with blood cancers and other haematological disorders. Her research interests include novel therapies for myeloid malignancies and innovations in transfusion practices.

With her combined expertise in both benign and malignant haematology, Dr Alimam provides a comprehensive service for patients requiring diagnostic evaluation, ongoing management, or second opinions. Her clinical philosophy centres around clear communication, shared decision-making, and ensuring each patient receives tailored care based on the latest evidence and best practices.

Dr Alimam offers both in-person and remote consultations at Princess Margaret Hospital. Appointments can be booked online, or you can contact her secretary directly at [email protected] to arrange an appointment or for any queries.
