Miss Salena Bains

Miss Bains has been a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon for over 2 years, and specialised in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery training for 3 years prior to this. She was a National Oncoplastic Fellow for 1 year at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) prior to becoming a Consultant. Miss Bains is the Breast Cancer Lead at UHB and also the Breast MDT lead. She is actively engaged in local and national trials and is the Principal Investigator for various breast research projects collaborating with the University of Birmingham. Miss Bains was awarded a PhD in Breast Cancer Research from King's College London and has several publications as well as national and international presentations.

Miss Bains has a keen interest in Medical Education. She is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham (UoB) and has an active involvement in Undergraduate and Postgraduate medical education. In addition to this, she also has a pastoral role as a Personal Academic Tutor for UoB 3rd, 4th and 5th-year medical students.

Miss Bains specialise in the management of breast cancer and benign breast conditions. She has a specific interest in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery, as well as managing breast sarcomas. Miss Bains has specialist training and experience in delivering electrochemotherapy.
