Mr Sachin Salvi is an internationally recognised Consultant Ophthalmologist and a top Surgeon in Sheffield and Yorkshire specializing in Cataract surgery, Cosmetic and Oculoplastics Eyelid surgery, Lacrimal, Orbital surgery and Ocular Oncology.
After completing his post-graduate ophthalmology training in India and UK, Mr Salvi undertook further sub-specialist Fellowships at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital Sheffield, Moorfields Eye Hospital, London and Cole Eye Institute, Cleveland, Ohio in USA.
He is an expert Cataract Surgeon who also offers premium multifocal, toric intraocular lenses. His surgical results exceed the national standards with an extremely low complication rate and a very high success rate as well as patient satisfaction.
Mr Salvi is a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society offering the whole spectrum of peri-ocular cosmetic and oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital procedures. Gaining a reputation as a skilled aesthetic surgeon has allowed him to treat patients nationally as well as from abroad. This unique and specific experience in Oculoplastics is reflected in his cosmetic results in various eyelid surgery. His routinely performed surgery include upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty, droopy eyelid surgery (ptosis), ectropion and entropion surgery (in-turning and out-turning of eyelids), water eye surgery (DCR), eyelid cysts and eyelid skin cancers (such as basal cell carcinoma).
One of the select few Ophthalmologists in the country who deals with all forms of adult eye cancers, Mr Salvi is on the Clinical Advisory Panel of Ocumel UK, a patient support group and was one of the key members who developed the National Uveal Melanoma Guidelines.
In his NHS practice, Mr Salvi is the director of the much sought after Fellowship Programme training the next generation of Ophthalmologists specializing in eyelid, lacrimal, orbital surgery and ocular oncology. He is invited internationally to educate and train Ophthalmologists, Optometrists and General practitioners. He is a keen teacher and has trained many registrars and fellows who have gone on to secure prestigious Consultant positions across the world.
As an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer to the University of Sheffield and the Ophthalmology lead, Mr Salvi teaches clinical skills to the Orthoptic students on their training Programme.
He has won many national and international awards and has over thirty publications in national and international peer reviewed journals.
Taking a keen interest in voluntary charity work, he regularly operates and teaches in India. His hobbies include travelling with his family and playing cricket. He is a founder member of the Sheffield Medics Cricket Club and represents this club in the South Yorkshire and Derbyshire league.
