To further develop his specialist expertise, he completed two highly regarded fellowships. The first was a Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship at University Hospitals Birmingham, where he gained advanced experience in arthroscopic shoulder surgery, shoulder replacement procedures, and complex upper limb trauma. He then completed a Hand and Elbow Fellowship in Bristol, focusing on tendon and ligament reconstruction and the management of degenerative hand and wrist conditions.
Mr El Ashry is committed to continuous professional development and regularly collaborates with leading orthopaedic surgeons across the UK, Europe, Canada, and the United States. He frequently attends international conferences and training programmes to remain at the forefront of modern surgical techniques.
He is also actively involved in teaching and research. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international meetings. As a GMC-accredited trainer, he teaches and mentors medical students from Aston University and the University of Birmingham, supporting the development of the next generation of surgeons.
