Mr Saad El Ashry is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in the West Midlands, with more than 21 years of clinical experience specialising in upper limb surgery and trauma care.

His private practice is based at Droitwich Spa Hospital, The Priory Hospital, and The Meriden Hospital, where he provides specialist assessment and treatment for a wide range of conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, hand, wrist, and upper limb.

Mr El Ashry has a particular interest in shoulder, elbow, and hand surgery. He offers both surgical and non-surgical treatment options, with a focus on helping patients reduce pain, restore movement, and return to everyday activities.

Mr El Ashry began his medical training at Alexandria University, where he completed his orthopaedic training at Alexandria University Hospital.

To further enhance his expertise, Mr El Ashry completed two specialist fellowships in upper limb surgery.

His first fellowship was in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at University Hospitals Birmingham, where he developed advanced skills in arthroscopic procedures, shoulder replacement surgery, and complex upper limb trauma.

He then completed a Hand and Elbow Fellowship in Bristol, gaining further experience in tendon and ligament reconstruction, as well as the treatment of complex hand and wrist conditions.

Mr El Ashry is committed to maintaining the highest standards of orthopaedic care through continuous learning and professional development. He regularly works with leading orthopaedic specialists across the UK, Europe, Canada, and the United States, attending international conferences and specialist training programmes.

Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in education and research. He has published in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented his work at national and international meetings.

As a GMC-accredited trainer, Mr El Ashry supports the education of future doctors and surgeons, teaching and mentoring medical students from Aston University and the University of Birmingham.

Through his practices at Droitwich Spa Hospital, Priory Hospital Birmingham, and Meriden Hospital, Mr El Ashry provides specialist upper limb care tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
