Dr Strauss is a Consultant Dermatologist at The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate. He has been working as a Consultant Dermatologist since 2006 and is a fully-trained dermatologist listed on the GMC specialist register.

He qualified from Erlangen Medical School in Germany in 1995 and his is basic medical training allowed him to get to know Yorkshire with posts in Leeds, Scarborough, Hull and Sheffield.

After completing his doctoral thesis, he worked as a Registrar in Dermatology in Sheffield, London and Buckinghamshire and completed his specialist training as a Dermatologist in Leeds. During his four years at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, he gained specialist experience in all dermatological sub-specialties.

Dr Strauss has been holding Consultant posts in Doncaster and mid-Yorkshire Hospitals, before joining Harrogate and District Foundation Trust in 2009. He manages all aspects of skin disease.

During his training, Dr Strauss developed a special interest in mole checks and surveillance, skin cancer and skin cancer surgery. His research activity has led to more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Strauss is involved in specialty training and is the Governance, Audit and Surgical Lead for his specialty in Harrogate District Foundation Trust. He believes in patient-centred, individualised care.
