Mr Elliot has ten years experience as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon with a subspecialty interest in foot and ankle surgery.
After completing a degree in Biochemistry at Oxford University, Mr Elliot studied medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. In 2008 he was awarded an HCA International Fellowship Travelling Scholarship and spent a year training under renowned foot and ankle surgeon Dr Terry Saxby in Brisbane, Australia. On his return he was appointed as a consultant at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Elliot has continued to develop his skills in foot and ankle surgery and is part of the on call trauma team at Hampshire Hospitals, treating a wide range of acute injuries and fractures in all age groups. He helped develop an Extracorporeal Shockwave service at Hampshire Hospitals, treating achilles tendon problems and plantar fasciitis and he offers this treatment at Circle Health Group.
Mr Elliot was appointed as the Clinical Director for Trauma & Orthopaedics at Hampshire Hospitals between 2016 & 2019. This role involved the efficient running of the Orthopaedic department and development of the trauma and orthopaedic services at the Trust.
Mr Elliot has published many scientific papers on trauma and orthopaedics and continues to be involved in research and supporting junior surgeons in a variety of projects. He is a recognised trainer of orthopaedic surgeons for the Wessex Deanery. He has taught on courses in the UK and internationally and in 2018 he hosted a ‘Live Surgery Symposium’ with an international faculty at Basingstoke hospital.
Mr Elliot is married with two children and in his spare time he enjoys cycling, swimming and fly fishing. He a lead coach for junior age grade rugby at Winchester Rugby Club.
