About Robert McCormick
Personal Profile
Robert McCormick undertook his training in the Oxford deanery, giving him exposure to comprehensive training in a world-renowned university hospital.
Mr McCormick was fully involved in the university, acting as a tutor and lecturer for undergraduate medical students in Brasenose and Pembroke colleges, in addition to reading for a DPhil research degree in Molecular Biology. Mr McCormick joined Milton Keynes University hospital as a substantive consultant in 2016, providing both general urological services as well as sub-specialist complex stone surgery, for which he chairs the stone MDT (multidisciplinary meetings).
He has continued his academic work through Buckingham University by providing formal curriculum teaching and educational/clinical supervision for both the undergraduate medical students and junior doctors.

Research interests:
- Mr McCormick has spent a period of his specialist training as an Academic Clinical Lecturer. During this time, he studied for, and was awarded a DPhil through Brasenose College, Oxford. His research was based on the molecular biology in cancer, and looked at the role of hypoxia-regulated microRNA in urological cancers. This was carried out at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, and was funded through research fellowships and grants that he was awarded.
