Dr Richard Barraclough is a local respiratory physician with many years experience of dealing with a wide range of acute and chronic respiratory conditions. He is a senior consultant at the North West Lung Centre, Wythenshawe Hospital where he has worked since 2005. He has extensive experience managing conditions including asthma, COPD, emphysema, chronic cough, pulmonary embolus, bronchiectasis, lung infections, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension and occupational lung disease.

Richard is the lead physician for COPD at the Wythenshawe Hospital where he runs the specialist lung volume reduction service identifying patients for treatment with Zephyr valves and surgery. He leads the pulmonary vascular team and runs weekly specialist clinics reviewing patients with pulmonary emboli and suspected pulmonary hypertension. He is also a member of the Manchester occupational lung disease MDT.
