Mr Ricardo Mohammed-Ali is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. His NHS practice is based at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
He is a specialist in reconstructive facial surgery and operates a practice that includes the removal of head and neck skin lesions, management of facial pain, treatment of facial deformity, and trauma and nerve injuries. In addition, he also treats patients with conditions affecting the jaw joint, salivary glands and the lining of the mouth.
He is one of the leading experts in the UK providing treatment for facial nerve injuries that includes nerve repair, nerve grafting, dynamic and static reconstructive procedures, and the use of treatment injections to manage facial asymmetry and eye spasms.
Following the completion of his higher specialist training, Mr Mohammed-Ali completed a Fellowship in Reconstructive Cosmetic Surgery. He qualified in both Medicine and Dentistry and has done his basic Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training at Guy’s, St Thomas’ and Kings College Hospital in London, Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead and Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford. His higher Oral & Maxillofacial surgical training was based at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, Rotherham and Chesterfield Hospitals, Derby Royal Hospital and Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham.
He is a member of the Joint Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery Team that treats patients with facial weakness and deformity after trauma, Bell’s Palsy, cancer surgery or strokes. He is also part of the multi-disciplinary team that treats patients with facial deformity.
